Aboriginal people in the Sale area are invited to morning tea and a yarn about treaty.
“I want to update people about what’s happening, and make sure community has the facts,” said Treaty Advancement Commissioner, Jill Gallagher AO.
“I want to hear the voices of the Aboriginal community,” she said.

Community will be able to vote in elections for the Aboriginal Representative Body, which will set the ‘ground rules’ for negotiations.
It will be made up of traditional owners. Elections will likely be held in mid 2019.
I heard the Commissioner speak about the work she is doing towards treaty, travelling around the State yarning about electing a representative body to speak on our behalf and to negotiate a treaty with the Victorian Government. I’m glad I had the chance to hear what she has to say and to ask questions and I encourage you all to come along and hear about the treaty business for yourselves,,,,,,,
