What a fantastic day for community on Sunday 27 May. Latrobe Performing Arts, supported by VicHealth brought together some amazing performers to entertain us. The day started with a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony from Kathy Dalton and Ronald Edwards and followed with us strolling across to the Arts Centre where DJ Fosters got us warmed up. Then we moved into the Town Hall Theatre and were blown away by the exceptional talent of Black Satin, Ricky Harrison, Nicky Moffat, Peter Hood and Sean Moffatt. Next came flexible, fun, funny, fast Indigenous Hip Hop Project. After a short intermission we came back to listen to the wit and warmth of Kutcha Edwards as he shared some of his story with us.
Also on display were artworks by Uncle Dennis Seymour, Aunty Christine Johnson and a number of Latrobe City Kindergartens and Childcare Centres, to a background of videoed stories from some of the Elders.
